Frequently Asked Questions
Can massage relieve soreness?
Yes. Soreness is caused from a build up of lactic and carbonic acids which are metabolic waste products in the muscles. Massage increases circulation helping to remove these wastes and bringing oxygen to the muscles.
What areas are worked on?
A full body massage does not include private areas such as the groin or breast area. All other areas are massaged unless the client does not feel comfortable with a certain area or if there are contraindications.
What’s the difference between Swedish and Neuromuscular massage?
A swedish massage relaxes the body with long gliding strokes and pampers the top muscle layers. A neuromuscular massage releases the deeper muscles through strokes such as kneading and helps to relieve chronic pain.
Is it ok to talk during my massage?
While feedback is encouraged regarding the pressure and any discomfort during your massage, generally it is better to allow yourself to relax completely in body and mind. Some people may have more questions during the first visit and want to communicate to help them relax. Whatever helps you feel comfortable and relaxed is best. The therapist will not initiate conversation and talk through the massage unless specific information is needed.
